Title: My Ancestry

In my artwork the person with blonde hair is somebody who has both European and Aboriginal ancestry. It represents both cultures united. Both flags are there to demonstrate that both cultures should be together. The hand is coming out of the ground because Aboriginal people were in Australia for a lot longer that European settlers. The tree is representing everyone combining and growing as a family. The spear shooting through the sky is there to explain that we shouldn’t fight based on the colour of our skin. The text always was, always will be is in the leaves of the tree because Aboriginal people have a strong connection to country and nature, it shows that this connection was always present and it always will be. The person jumping in the water is saying that they will fight for their country if they have to. The Be Nice is representing a reminder to always be kind to one another.
