My traditional totem, the shovel nose shark is incorporated into this design. I am proud to be a female creating Art in the NPA with my culture. Shovel nose shark is my totem from my mother's side. Turtle is the totem from my father's side. My mother is Torres Strait Islander and my father is Aboriginal. I have also turned my artwork into a black and white lino print. My artwork fits the theme of "Always Was, Always will Be" because it shows how two cultures can unite and come together to regenerate a community with lots of history and heritage on both sides.- Anna Woosup
